Volunteer Spotlight: Mariam Amirikian
Everything that AMA Minnesota offers would not be possible without the amazing work of our volunteers. Often their work is done behind the scenes. To thank our volunteers and bring their efforts to light, we regularly showcase them in a Volunteer Spotlight.

1. Why did you decide to become a volunteer with AMA MN?
While I was a Master of Marketing student at the University of Minnesota, Carlson School of Management, I learned about the American Marketing Association through a few of my marketing professors. I volunteered as a judge for the Collegiate Case Competition and thoroughly enjoyed my experience and interacting with other AMA members and volunteers. I decided to join as a volunteer member of the Collegiate Chapter because I wanted to contribute to the marketing community, share my knowledge, and learn from others in the field. Plus, it is a very fun and exciting annual event!
2. What do you enjoy most about being a volunteer on your committee?
As a member for the Collegiate Chapter, I actively recruit universities and colleges to participate in AMA involvement, fostering collaboration and knowledge-sharing, and embracing diverse voices and perspectives within the collegiate community. It is inspiring to see enthusiastic and passionate young marketers who will shape the industry’s future.
3. Why is being a volunteer with AMA MN important to you?
Being a volunteer with AMA MN allows me to give back to the marketing community, stay connected with industry trends, and foster meaningful relationships with fellow marketers.
4. What’s the one thing you wish others knew about volunteering with AMA MN? What makes it unique?
Volunteering with AMA MN offers invaluable networking opportunities, professional development resources, and a supportive community of like-minded individuals passionate about marketing.
5. What is some of the best advice you’ve received in your career?
The best advice I have received is to never stop learning and to always be open to new experiences and opportunities for growth.
6. Besides volunteering, what do you enjoy doing in your free time?
In my free time, I enjoy exploring the outdoors, traveling, gaming, and trying out new recipes in the kitchen.
